The Hunt for Marco Polo Sheep

The Hunt for Marco Polo Sheep
The hunt for the coveted Marco Polo sheep is not just a hunt; it is the greatest adventure in sheep hunting. Journey with outdoor filmmaker Ken Wilson, hunting consultant/outfitter Bob Kern, Dr. Roy Schultz (co-founder and past president of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep), and experienced hunter Harold Meyers as they travel through Moscow, Bishkek, Osh, and finally Murgab, enroute to the famous Hot Springs Camp in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan near the border of Afghanistan.
Follow in the footsteps of such great sheep hunters as Kermit Roosevelt, Prince Abdorreza Pahlavi, Elgin Gates, and Bert Klineburger. See thousands of rams, and six on-camera kills including Harold Meyers’ and Ken Wilson’s rams measuring in the mid 50-inch range and Doc Schultz’s great ram that taped 59 inches.
Situated at the volcanic hot spring at 13,300 feet, Hot Springs Camp is one of the most remote places on Earth. Most hunting takes place between 13,000 and 16,000 feet where oxygen is thin and fatigue is the hunters’ constant companion.

Loaded for Brown Bears (Kamchatka)

Loaded for Brown Bears (Kamchatka)
When Richard Nixon was President and Nikita Krushchev was pounding on the negotiating table with his shoe, who would of conceived that American hunters, during the 20th century, would be able to fly from Anchorage, Alaska to Petropavlovsk, Russia and hunt Brown Bears on the Kamchatka Peninsula with Russian guides?
Bob Kern of the Hunting Consortium arranged and outfitted successful hunts for Russia's big Brown Bears for William "Smitty" Smith, Ken Wilson, Lad Shunneson and Dennis Lord. Wilson also bags a Stone Capercaillie.
