Zambia Safari - The Bangweulu Swamps
Zambia Safari - The Bangweulu Swamps
The first animals hunted are the Oribi and Tsessebe which are both found on the grasslands surrounding the flood plains.
The Bangweulu Swamps are the only place in the world where the Black Lechwe exists. Only the male has horns, which are ringed and lyre-shaped, with 23 inches considered to be a good trophy. In order to increase the chances for an excellent specimen, Wayne and Ronnie and a skeleton staff move to fly camp. The reward is that Wayne is able to take a beautiful 26 incher on-camera.
Then the hunting begins for one of Africa's greatest trophies: the ghost of the swamps, the legendary Zambezi Sitatunga, an aquatic antelope that lives in the swamps. As a defense mechanism, Sitatunga can actually submerge with only their nostrils above water.
Sitatunga are difficult to hunt and rarely photographed. But Wayne and Ronnie move their camp into the swamps and several Sitatunga are filmed before Wayne takes a magnificent specimen on-camera.

Zimbabwe's Glamour Game
Zimbabwe's Glamour Game
Due to the continual predation of cattle by leopards in Zimbabwe, the hunting and ranching industries are collaborating to reduce the population of cattle-killing leopards by tracking them with dogs. The hunt is simultaneously exciting, dangerous and rewarding.
In this sequel to Leopard Charge, which documents what can go wrong on this type of hunt, both Ken Wilson and Dr. Mike Gill shoot large cats while hunting with Harry Greaves of Fountain Safaris and his team including Garry Miles, Wayne Bartlett, Don Nicolas and trackers Cephus and Brown.
The other glamorous species for which Zimbabwe is famous are also hunted: sable, Livingston eland and greater kudu. In addition, the famous Victoria Falls and surrounds are explored, as is Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo.

The Buff is finally killed after arising from the "dead." The hippo doubles as Lion bait with interesting results including a charge by a Lioness.
Then Ken and Ronnie drive southwest of Lusaka to the Kafue Flats, the great floodplain of the Kafue River and home to large herds of Kafue Flats Lechwe. Only the males have horns and they are spectacular, sub-lyrate, and often exceed 30"; by far the largest of the Lechwe family.
